A hot morning beverage is a daily ritual so many of us engage in. For me, it was fresh ginger tea. The ginger was uplifting and invigorating, and it filled the house with a smell that signaled the beginning of the day. But the work involved to peel, chop and press the ginger each day could be daunting. I could make our morning meal in less time than it took to make a single cup of tea! So, I decided to batch-press the ginger at the beginning of each week. This worked well from Sunday through Tuesday, but by the time the weekend rolled around, the taste just wasn’t the same. That led to the idea of portioning and freezing my batch-pressed ginger, and Kovi Kai was born.
My drive to share these elixirs with the world is rooted, so to speak, in my role as a mother, sharing the world as I see it with my boys, Kovanni and Kainoa. They are my inspiration to create a sustainable future built on the twin pillars of personal health and environmental stewardship. Kovi Kai is my homage to the promise of youth—a life of health and happiness on a healthy happy planet.
